Advocacy Day
February 7, 2008
Michigan PTSA hosts its annual Advocacy Day in order to train and empower our grassroots advocates and further our mission. PTA's legislative priorities complement our objective of advocating for services and policies that benefit children, educating parents to be advocates for their children, and engaging community members in support of public education..
During Advocacy Day, PTA /PTSA members, educators, community leaders and administrators attend workshops and presentations focused on advocacy for children and families at the local, state, and federal levels. The workshops also feature PTA’s policy priorities and advice on communicating with lawmakers.
The day features a special lunch with the legislators where attendees are able to share their messages with policy makers in a non-threatening environment.
